Jim Truong has been one of the pioneers of the Linux movement since its infancy. In 1995, he gave up his job at Zylan Corporation—a leading switch and router company—to pursue his dream. He founded the #2 Linux company in the US, ASL. ASL’s most famous client was Linus Torvalds, the founder and creator of Linux.
Jim wholeheartedly believes in the open source movement—where ideas can be shared freely and, in effect, the contribution of knowledge becomes the catalyst for growth. As a technologist, Jim was one of the early adapters and supporters of the Linux cluster, which later became cloud computing. In pursuing his ambition, Jim joined Amax Information Technology in 1999 where he started their Linux and cloud computing department.
Jim fundamentally believes OSE will change how the world views and adapts to open source technology in the enterprise.
